Imagine that your personality is like an oak tree. One tree, made up of many different parts - many roots, a sturdy trunk, many branches and even more leaves. This oak tree changes over time as it grows and is exposed to the weathers of time, but it remains an oak tree. There are other oak trees, but no two are alike. It's the same with us. We are one psychological being made up of many parts that compose and express our nature. You recognize within yourself, "Part of me wants to go, part of me wants to stay". Part of me likes to get things done, part of me wants to rest. Part of me feels responsible, part of me dreams and plays. There are uncountable parts! The question becomes, which parts are running your life, why, and does it work for you, the whole 'oak tree'? What would happen if the oak tree decided that it only liked its leaves, but not the branches? Oak trees are smarter than that! But we do make those kinds of decisions; we do get identified with certain parts of ourselves and we disown others. We forget and fear our grandeur. Unlike the oak tree, we don't reach into and feel all our parts.
At ripe points in our lives, we feel called to reintegrate more of who we can be into our realm of possibilities. It may be a loss that triggers this search for wholeness. Loss of an important relationship, a job or career, the empty nest, a loss of purpose. Or, we sense a pull. A dream bothers us. Or, we're preparing to enter into a new situation and we want to overcome our fears and inhibitions. It may be that we are feeling itchy because of someone who is really bugging us and we want to figure out a new way of handling ourselves with them. In one way or another, a psychic initiation has begun. For this, Voice Dialogue is an important method for becoming aware of just who it is we think we are, and how we can be more of who we 'are'.
Join me for an experiential weekend, exploring a bigger mapping of you, and experiencing and witnessing Voice Dialogue facilitation to directly connect with your many parts.
